Robot.com Holdings, Inc. dba Robot.com (“Robot.com,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to respecting the privacy rights and concerns of all users (“you”) of the services made available by Robot.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we use and protect your personal information. If you are in the United Kingdom or European Union, please review this policy in connection with our GDPR Addendum at the end.

Below you will find details about what personal information we collect, what we do with that information, and how you can control your information. To help you understand our privacy practices, we have provided the following brief overview covering what we believe are the key points:

  • What personal information do we collect? We collect the following categories of personal information: identifiers; customer records; internet or other electronic network activity; geolocation data; and audio, electronic, visual, thermal, olfactory, or similar information.
  • How do we use your personal information? We use your personal information to provide our services, improve our products, communicate you, and otherwise operate our business.
  • Do we sell or share your personal information? Yes. We disclose personal information to others for cross-context behavioral advertising (which is commonly known as “targeted advertising”). Some jurisdictions consider this a sale or share of your information.
  • How long do we keep your personal information? We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to accomplish the purposes for which it was collected, and as necessary to comply with legal obligations and to protect our interests.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy only applies to personal information we collect through (1) deliveries made by Robot.com using any of our own or third-party platforms (the “Service”); and (2) your interactions with us through our website, delivery robots marketing channels, customer support, social media interactions, and related services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information you provide to or through technology, software, and services owned and controlled by third parties (“Third Party Features”) that you access through the Service. Your use or submission of information to those parties or through those features are subject to the third party’s applicable privacy policy.

2. Collection and Use

In the last 12 months, we collected the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers and Customer Records. Details such as name, contact information, IP address, videos, or photographs.
  • Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity. Details such as your IP address and interactions on our website.
  • Geolocation Data. Details about your general location.
  • Audio, electronic, visual, thermal, olfactory, or similar information. Details captured by our robots, including photos and videos of their surroundings.

We collect and use personal information to process delivery orders, optimize logistic processes, predict best routes, provide customer service, and improve our offerings to customers. For example, we may use your information for: (i) order placement; (ii) processing and delivering your requested products; (iii) providing you a faster, convenient and satisfactory quality service; (iv) processing orders; (v) handling your customer service inquiries; (vi) verifying your identity; and (vii) requesting feedback or otherwise communicating with you. We may also use your personal information in connection with a corporate reorganization, to exercise our legal rights or comply with our legal obligations, and other purposes that we disclose to you in advance or are permitted by law. Below, you will find more details on what we collect and additional examples of how we use of that information.

Information you provide to us

(i) Your location: We need this information to know and store your address or delivery location to complete your order delivery.

(ii) Your phone number: We need to know your phone number to notify you about your order delivery and contact you in order to solve any problems or questions related to the Service. Furthermore, your phone number lets us identify you as a customer or user of our Service and assist you with technical questions about our Service. We will also use your phone number for communicating with you managing and tracking the delivery process and for advertising and promoting of our website mobile application, and Services.

(iii) Your email address: We use your email address for communicating with you; managing and tracking the delivery process; and advertising and promoting of our website, mobile application, and Services.

We need these details to carry out our contract with you—in other words, to provide you the services you requested. If you do not provide these details, we may not be able to offer you our services.

Information we collect automatically

(i) Images and videos captured by Robot.com robots: We use semi-autonomous technology to provide the Service, accordingly, we use cameras and sensors, to assist with localization, location, driving assistance, visibility, and mapping of the robots and the fulfillment of the Service. This allows us to safely and effectively deliver orders while navigating highly complex situations. We do not keep recordings of any audio captured by our robots.

(ii) Cookie data. When you visit our website, we and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your activity on our website, including details about your device and pages visited. We use that information to understand how you interact with our website so that we can optimize website performance and improve your experience. We also use that information to, with your consent, to provide you more relevant advertising by sharing the details with our marketing partners. We collect that information through essential and non-essential cookies or similar technologies. Any information collected through non-essential cookies is optional. There is no consequence for not sharing details through non-essential cookies.

3. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We take children’s privacy very seriously and encourage parents to always play an active role in their children’s online experience.

4. Data Retention

We will keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, as appropriate to exercise our legal rights, and to comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

5. Security Measures

We take your privacy seriously. We take different measures designed to protect your personal information. For example, we have adopted industry-standard security and confidentiality practices designed to prevent unauthorized access to or processing of personal information. We also inform our employees of the rules and requirements regarding the access, use, and disclosure of your personal information.

6. Disclosures

We generally restrict the access of personal information to our employees and other parties who need to know that information in order to develop, operate, and maintain the Service or otherwise operate our business, such as maintaining the website or communicating with you. Additionally, in connection with carrying out the purposes specified in Section 2, we may disclose personal information to:

  • Robot.com’s Corporate Family. We provide information to our subsidiaries, affiliates, and other related companies.
  • Vendors or Business Partners. We provide personal information to our processors, contractors, and service providers. Some of these vendors include companies who help us understand activity on our website. In the last 12 months, we have disclosed to these entities all the categories of personal information we collect.

These groups help us operate our business by assisting with tasks such as communicating with you and delivering, improving, or customizing our products and services. As part of that process, sometimes we work with the companies above to process, analyze, and store personal information, including, but not limited to, analytical data.

Robot.com requires these third parties to treat personal information as confidential, comply with this Privacy Policy and maintain appropriate security to protect your information from unauthorized access or processing, as stated in the written agreements executed between the parties. In addition, Robot.com takes reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure the above-listed third parties process your personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations. We also take steps to stop and remediate any unauthorized processing of your personal information by those parties.

In addition to the disclosures noted above, we may provide information to others: in response to court orders or law enforcement requests; as appropriate to enforce our Terms of Use; to address fraud or security issues; and in connection with protecting the rights of Robot.com, its employees, and others.

With your consent, which is collected through our consent management platform on our website, we also disclose personal information about your activity on our website to third parties who use that information to provide you more relevant advertising. Some jurisdictions consider such disclosures a sale or targeted advertising. You can withdraw your consent at any time to our use of your data for those purposes.

7. Your Rights

Robot.com endeavors to ensure that personal information about data subjects is reliable, accurate, and up to date. Some states provide individuals specific rights regarding their data. We are providing those opportunities to everyone. Specifically, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information we hold about you:

(i) Access and Portability. You can request that we provide you the specific pieces of personal information that we hold about you and, upon your request, we will try to provide your information in a readily usable format. You can also request other details, such as what categories of personal information we collect and who are the third parties to whom we disclosed your information.

(ii) Correction/Rectification: You can request we correct inaccurate personal information.

(iii) Deletion/Erasure: You can request we delete your personal information.

(iv) Opt Out of Sales: You can request that we do not sell your personal information. We do not disclose personal information for money. But, with your consent, we may disclose it to third parties for certain types of advertising based on your activity across websites. Some jurisdictions consider that activity to be a sale.

(v) Opt Out of Sharing & Targeted Advertising: You can request that we do not use your personal information for certain types of targeted advertising based on your activity across websites (sometimes referred to as “sharing”). We only use information for those purposes with your consent.

(vi) Opting out of receiving communications from us: ‍If you no longer want to receive our newsletter, emails, or other announcements, you may unsubscribe by writing to us at info@robot.com, or by following the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our emails. Please note that you cannot unsubscribe from certain correspondence from us, including messages relating directly to your account.

(vii) Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. For example, we will not: (a) deny you goods or services; (b) charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through the use of discounts or other benefits or imposing penalties; (c) provide you a different level or quality of goods or services; or (d) suggest that you will receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services. However, we may charge a different price or rate, or provide a different level or quality of goods or services, if that difference is reasonably related to the value provided to you by your personal information.

You may exercise your access, correction, and deletion, rights by writing to us at data@kiwicampus.com. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. You can exercise right to opt out of sales, sharing, or targeted advertising by declining to opt in to our non-essential cookies or updating your cookie preferences on our website to decline all non-essential cookies. We will also respond to universal opt out signals.

Some states allow you to have an agent submit a request on your behalf. If you live in one of those states, then we may require (1) you to verify your identity with us or confirm that you authorized the agent to act on your behalf and (2) your agent to provide us your signed permission demonstrating that they are authorized to act on your behalf.

If you disagree with our decision regarding your request, you may appeal the decision by sending a letter to Privacy Office, 212 Ritch Street, San Francisco, CA 94107. Your email must identify the decision you are contesting and explain why you believe our original decision was incorrect.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

From time to time, we may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect new features, operational changes, or legal requirements. Whenever an update is made, the “Effective Date” at the top will show the most recent version. We recommend reviewing this Privacy Policy occasionally so you understand how we handle your information. If you continue to use our Service after a revision takes effect, it means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.

GDPR Addendum

This GDPR Addendum supplements our Privacy Policy with information to comply with our obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). This supplemental information only applies to individuals in the United Kingdom or European Union.
